THE STORY
The journey behind the music
Nova Jolan didn’t choose music. Music chose her — and held on through decades of notebooks, lost lyrics, and a life that refused to fit neatly into anyone else’s box.
Raised in the 80s and 90s in a world that didn’t yet have language for what she was living, Nova spent years navigating identity, difference, and survival largely without a map. The name Nova Jolan itself carries that journey — a variation on her own name that only came to the forefront recently, one that feels both new and completely true at the same time.
Her sound reflects everything she survived to get here: alternative rock with emotional weight at its core, guitar-driven and cathartic, built from the same DNA as Breaking Benjamin, Evanescence, Mayday Parade, and Avril Lavigne. Songs that dance around the truth, and occasionally just say it outright.
Her debut single Quiet Burn is about settling into yourself after the fire of change — the quiet, hard-won peace on the other side of becoming. It’s her story. But she’s always known it might be yours too.
